The European Parliament will focus on foreign policy, digital regulation, taxation, transport and public safety during the week of Sept. 21–27, 2026, with lawmakers traveling to several countries for official delegations and meetings. A Foreign Affairs Committee delegation will visit Iceland to discuss foreign policy, security and the future of EU-Iceland relations following the Aug. 29 referendum. Members of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee will travel to South Korea to examine regulation of artificial intelligence, deepfakes, digital technologies and online trade. Other delegations will visit the United States to discuss taxation, efforts to combat tax evasion and global tax issues. In Greenland, lawmakers will address transport infrastructure, connectivity and sustainable tourism, while also examining the experiences of Indigenous women and girls, including access to health care and education and the effects of climate change. Parliamentary groups will also travel to Finland to discuss culture, resilience and civil protection, and to Greece to review railway safety measures after the 2023 Tempi train crash, which killed 57 people. Parliament President Roberta Metsola is scheduled to attend events connected to the United Nations General Assembly in New York and meet Secretary-General António Guterres.
