Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv and Berlin are working to accelerate deliveries of Patriot missile interceptors during a meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin.

Zelenskyy briefed Pistorius on Russian strikes against critical infrastructure across Ukraine, saying repeated attacks on energy facilities and a shortage of ballistic-missile defenses were creating particular challenges ahead of winter.

Ukraine has a substantial contract to purchase German-made PAC-2 missiles over the next two years. Zelenskyy said faster deliveries would strengthen the protection of civilians and energy infrastructure.

The two officials agreed that their teams would examine ways to speed up the deliveries and discuss additional defense needs, including IRIS-T air-defense systems and ammunition for F-16 fighter jets. Zelenskyy thanked German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Pistorius and Germany for their continued support of Ukraine.
