A 49-year-old Helensvale man has been charged after two traffic crashes on the Gold Coast on Wednesday afternoon, Queensland Police said. No one was physically injured in the incidents. Police allege the man was driving a Toyota Hilux when it crashed at the northbound exit 60 off-ramp of the Pacific Motorway at about 5:10 p.m. He allegedly fled the scene before returning and crashing into another vehicle shortly afterward. The man was arrested in Helensvale and allegedly failed to provide a breath specimen for analysis. He has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, being adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, being in charge of a vehicle while under the influence of liquor, and failing to provide a specimen of breath. He is expected to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Nov. 18. Investigations are continuing. Post navigation MEPs Push Tougher Drug Controls
