Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his first phone conversation with United Kingdom Prime Minister Andy Burnham on July 20, according to the Ukrainian presidential office. Zelenskyy congratulated Burnham on taking office and discussed continued cooperation between the two countries. Burnham reaffirmed that the United Kingdom’s support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people would remain steadfast. Zelenskyy thanked him for expressing respect for the Ukrainian people and offering condolences to families affected by recent Russian attacks. The two leaders agreed to meet in the near future to discuss bilateral cooperation, including work through the Anti-Ballistic Coalition. Zelenskyy said Ukraine and the United Kingdom had built the strongest partnership in the history of their relations and would continue seeking to expand it.
