A 30-year-old Queensland Police Service constable from the Brisbane Region has been charged over alleged computer hacking offences, Queensland Police said in a statement issued Oct. 23.

The officer faces three counts of computer hacking and misuse, along with one count of misusing a restricted computer and causing detriment. Police said the alleged offences occurred both on and off duty.

The constable has been stood down from the Queensland Police Service and is due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on Oct. 27.

Queensland Police said the allegations had not been substantiated and that the notification was issued as part of its commitment to transparency and accountability when members face serious misconduct allegations.
