Dariia Zarivna, Chief Operating Officer of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, has presented a compelling case for the return of Ukrainian children from deportation at Denmark’s largest democracy festival, Folkemødet. As an advisor to the President of Ukraine, Zarivna joined a panel discussion alongside former NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, emphasizing the urgency of international intervention. During the event, Zarivna highlighted the ongoing deportation and indoctrination of Ukrainian children as a deliberate strategy by the Kremlin, warning that the failure to address this issue could result in up to 1.6 million children being raised as future aggressors by Russia. Her address underscored the necessity of international dialogue and cooperation to counter this strategy. Zarivna shared updates on the initial list of abducted children handed over to Russia during negotiations in Istanbul, stressing that Russia’s commitment to dialogue would be proven by the return of these children. She also showcased the unique collaboration between the Ukrainian state, civil society organizations, and volunteers within the Bring Kids Back UA initiative. In addition to her panel participation, Zarivna engaged with European politicians, civil society representatives, and journalists, discussing prospective joint projects. These efforts aim to strengthen international partnerships and support the mission of repatriating Ukrainian children, reinforcing Ukraine’s commitment to safeguarding its youngest citizens.
