Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv is seeking expanded support from the United States and Europe as it prepares for potential challenges during the winter, while emphasizing the importance of restarting negotiations to end Russia’s war. Speaking during a joint press conference with U.S. presidential envoys on Sept. 6, Zelenskyy said Ukraine hoped to reach agreements with its American partners on issues related to the winter period. He also called for European support if the war continues through the season. Following a meeting in Kyiv with U.S. envoys Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Zelenskyy said negotiations were important in any format that allows diplomatic efforts to proceed.
