In a strategic move to bolster international partnerships, Ukraine is prioritizing enhanced cooperation with African nations in key sectors such as agriculture, education, and digitalization. This initiative was discussed during an online meeting led by Ihor Brusylo, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, with Ukrainian diplomatic officials stationed across several African countries.

The meeting, which included representatives from various Ukrainian ministries, underscored the mutual benefits of collaboration between Ukraine and African nations. Ihor Brusylo highlighted the critical support African countries have provided to Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia and expressed Ukraine’s readiness to engage in constructive partnerships. Discussions centered on the humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” which has successfully delivered food aid to over 10 million people across 12 African countries.

Ukraine envisions African countries not merely as export markets but as strategic partners in global food security and economic development. The meeting emphasized the expansion of economic ties, leveraging Ukraine’s strengths in agribusiness, education, digital technologies, and cybersecurity. Additionally, the dialogue explored cooperation in digital transformation, with Ukraine offering to share its expertise in developing digital infrastructure.

The education sector also received special attention, focusing on expanding educational programs and academic exchanges. This initiative aims to address African countries’ needs by training qualified specialists in Ukraine, further solidifying the partnership between Ukraine and the African continent.
