The Ukrainian Centre in Lithuania has marked its third anniversary by celebrating the hosting of over 4,300 events, showcasing its significant impact on cultural and educational exchanges. This milestone was highlighted by First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, in a recent video address.

Established in June 2022, the Centre represents a unique collaboration between the First Ladies of Ukraine and Lithuania, serving as the first cultural and educational hub in an EU country dedicated to Ukrainian initiatives. It offers a wide array of activities, including language courses, informal learning sessions, cultural and sports events, and a summer children’s camp. Remarkably, more than two-thirds of these events are organized by Ukrainians themselves.

First Lady Zelenska expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who have supported the Centre, emphasizing Lithuania’s consistent and selfless hospitality since the onset of Russia’s invasion. “It’s easy enough to show hospitality once. But it’s far more difficult – and more mature – to open your heart for the long haul,” she stated, commending Lithuania’s unwavering support.

The Centre not only fosters cultural ties but also promotes Ukrainian projects through fairs, festivals, concerts, and art events, and regularly hosts international gatherings. It stands out as a state-level patronized initiative with no expiration, conditions, or limitations on the opportunities it provides to Ukrainians.
