Queensland Police have charged an 11-year-old girl following an alleged robbery with violence in Townsville on the evening of September 22, in which a 28-year-old woman was injured. Police allege the woman was boarding a bus near the intersection of Flinders Lane and Fraley Lane at about 7:34 p.m. when two youths pulled her from behind, causing her to fall onto a concrete platform. She was allegedly assaulted while on the ground and had property stolen. The woman suffered head lacerations and other injuries. Emergency services treated her at the scene before she was transported home. The girl was arrested shortly afterward and charged with robbery in company using personal violence. Bail was refused, and she was scheduled to appear in Townsville Children’s Court on September 23. A second 11-year-old was also arrested and will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
