A blood drive organized by Queensland Police’s Wide Bay District has generated 333 blood and plasma donations, potentially helping save the equivalent of nearly 1,000 lives. The BleedBlue4Jordan campaign ran from Sept. 22 through Oct. 31 in support of First Year Constable Jordan May, who was shot in the leg while responding to a domestic violence incident in Yengarie in July.

May said the results exceeded his expectations and expressed gratitude for the community’s support. Queensland Police said he is continuing to recover from his injuries.

Wide Bay District Officer Superintendent Anne Vogler praised police officers and other donors for participating in the campaign. She said the donations would make a meaningful difference to people facing similar medical emergencies and noted that some officers donated blood for the first time.

The Queensland Police Service encouraged residents to continue donating blood and plasma to support patients in need.
