The European Parliament will hold a press briefing on its 14–17 September plenary session on Monday, September 14, outlining debates and votes on Europe’s security, foreign interference, Ukraine and other issues. The briefing, scheduled for 4:30 p.m., will take place in the Daphne Caruana Galizia press room and online via Interactio. It will be available with interpretation in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Polish. Key items on the parliamentary agenda include the State of the European Union debate with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and an address by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Members will also debate and vote on strengthening Europe’s defence readiness and countering threats to democratic institutions. Other planned discussions will cover Russia’s hybrid attacks, the conflict in the Middle East, support for Ukraine, extreme heatwaves and wildfires, migrant instrumentalisation in Ceuta, and the impact of social media on young people.
