NASA and the National Football League are partnering on a new Inspiration Tour that will bring space exploration and aeronautics to football fans through game-day flyovers, astronaut appearances and public engagement events across the United States. NASA participation is scheduled for four regular-season games: the Pittsburgh Steelers versus the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 13 in Pittsburgh; the Baltimore Ravens versus the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 20 in Baltimore; the Philadelphia Eagles versus the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 4 in Philadelphia; and the New York Jets versus the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 11 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Flyovers at selected games will feature NASA aircraft used for high-speed testing, high-altitude research and astronaut training. The agency said the demonstrations also highlight technologies that could support future commercial air travel. The tour, led by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, will connect the agency with academic, industry and public-sector groups. It is scheduled to conclude with MAX POWER, a public exhibition of air and space innovation planned for Nov. 7 and 8 near NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
