European Parliament’s co-rapporteurs Siegfried Mureşan and Carla Tavares will host a press conference to discuss the ongoing negotiations over the EU’s multiannual financial framework (MFF) for 2028-2034. The briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, 16 June 2026, at 15:30 CET in the European Parliament, Strasbourg.

The press event follows the Cyprus presidency’s recent presentation of the Council’s draft position on the Commission’s proposal for the EU’s long-term budget. This development comes ahead of the discussions set for the same day at the General Affairs Council. Journalists will have the opportunity to engage directly with the co-rapporteurs, either in person or via webstreaming, with options for remote interaction through the platform Interactio.

Interpretation services will be available in multiple languages including English, French, German, Romanian, and Portuguese to accommodate the diverse media presence expected. For journalists new to the Interactio platform, a preliminary connection test is recommended 30 minutes before the conference begins. This initiative underscores the European Parliament’s commitment to transparency and accessibility in its deliberative processes.
