A dramatic chase involving a stolen truck concluded with an arrest near Owanyilla on September 10, as Queensland Police successfully intercepted the vehicle following a pursuit that stretched from Brisbane City. The incident began in the morning when the truck was reportedly stolen from Elizabeth Street. The vehicle, a small pantech truck, was tracked moving north on the Bruce Highway. Police deployed a tyre deflation device in the Sunshine Coast area, but the truck continued its journey before eventually halting near Canterwood Road in Tiaro. The driver, a 39-year-old man from Fortitude Valley, was apprehended around 1.53 pm. The suspect faces multiple charges, including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count each of dangerous driving, driving under the influence, evading police, and driving while suspended.
