A dramatic chase involving a stolen truck concluded with an arrest near Owanyilla on September 10, as Queensland Police successfully intercepted the vehicle following a pursuit that stretched from Brisbane City. The incident began in the morning when the truck was reportedly stolen from Elizabeth Street.

The vehicle, a small pantech truck, was tracked moving north on the Bruce Highway. Police deployed a tyre deflation device in the Sunshine Coast area, but the truck continued its journey before eventually halting near Canterwood Road in Tiaro. The driver, a 39-year-old man from Fortitude Valley, was apprehended around 1.53 pm.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count each of dangerous driving, driving under the influence, evading police, and driving while suspended. He is scheduled to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on September 11.
