Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has enacted sanctions against Russian individuals and companies accused of helping produce ballistic missiles and supply equipment and components to Russia’s defense industry.

According to the Ukrainian presidential website, one sanctions list covers 51 individuals and 44 legal entities linked to the production of missiles used in attacks against Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure. The targeted organizations reportedly supply raw materials, equipment and tools used in the manufacture of weapons including Iskander, Kalibr, Kh-101 and Kinzhal missiles.

The listed entities include Russia’s Research Institute of Plastic Materials, the Kometa space systems corporation, chemical supplier VitaReaktiv, Promenergo, the Kirov Biochemical Plant and the D.I. Mendeleyev Institute for Metrology. Ukraine said these organizations support the production of defense, aerospace, aviation and missile-related equipment.

Additional sanctions cover 32 Russian citizens and 35 companies involved in supplying industrial machinery, electronics, raw materials and components for drones and other weapons. Ukraine also targeted companies associated with the RUSAL industrial group, saying aluminum supplies imported by two RUSAL entities were used in the production of military aircraft, armored vehicles, missiles and drones. Ukrainian sanctions official Vladyslav Vlasiuk said Kyiv aims to extend the measures to other jurisdictions.
