NASA is set to host a special public event featuring astronauts from the SpaceX Crew-11 mission on June 1, 2026, at the Webb Auditorium, NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. This event will provide an opportunity for astronauts Zena Cardman, Mike Fincke, and JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui to discuss their monumental 167-day mission aboard the International Space Station. The Crew-11 mission, which began with a launch from Kennedy Space Center on August 1, 2025, concluded with a splashdown off San Diego’s coast on January 15, 2026. Throughout their mission, the crew, including Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, traveled nearly 71 million miles and completed over 2,670 orbits of Earth. Their journey not only marked significant personal milestones but also included extensive scientific research and the celebration of 25 continuous years of human presence on the space station. During their time in space, the crew undertook a variety of experiments aimed at advancing human knowledge for life on Earth and future long-duration human and robotic exploration into deep space. Their work included hundreds of hours in research, maintenance, and technology demonstrations, essential for preparing for future missions to the Moon and Mars. The upcoming public event is part of NASA’s Frontiers Forum series, which engages leading voices in discussing key priorities and innovations in space exploration. Attendees must RSVP by June 1, and while the crew’s busy schedule will not allow for individual interviews, the event promises to offer valuable insights into the latest advancements in space travel and research.
