In a shocking case emerging from Logan Reserve, a 40-year-old woman has been charged with torture and failing to provide the necessities of life to a child. Queensland Police reported that the charges followed an intensive investigation triggered by the hospitalization of a 10-year-old girl. The young victim was admitted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital on February 9, exhibiting signs of severe dehydration, critical malnutrition, and numerous untreated injuries. In response, police declared the child’s residence a crime scene and commenced a detailed inquiry into the circumstances leading to her condition. After months of investigation, authorities have formally charged the woman responsible for the child’s care with three counts of failing to supply necessaries and one count of torture. She is expected to appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today. Meanwhile, the child is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, where her condition is reported as stable.
