Detectives have charged a 29-year-old man from Lota with attempted murder following an incident where he allegedly used his vehicle to strike another man. The violent confrontation occurred on the afternoon of May 3, 2026, in the car park of a Chestnut Street unit complex in Wynnum.

According to Queensland Police Service, the accused reportedly drove a Landcruiser 4WD at a 27-year-old man, known to him, multiple times. On the third attempt, the vehicle hit the victim, causing him serious head injuries. The victim was subsequently transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for urgent medical care.

The assailant fled the scene but was apprehended by the police at 1 pm in Coolanna Street at Lota. Alongside the attempted murder charge, he faces one count of dangerous driving. The accused is set to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, May 4.
