A catastrophic traffic accident claimed the life of a five-year-old boy and left several others injured near Kilcummin, Clermont region, prompting a full-scale investigation by the Forensic Crash Unit. The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 29, around 3:50 PM on Gregory Development Road, approximately 75km north of Clermont.

According to Queensland Police, emergency services rushed to the site following reports that a white Foton Tunland had veered off the road and rolled over. Tragically, a young boy was pronounced dead at the scene. A 29-year-old woman and a three-year-old boy from Townsville were critically injured and subsequently airlifted to Mackay Hospital in stable condition.

The driver, a 30-year-old man, and a one-year-old boy also sustained minor injuries and were transported to Clermont Hospital. As the community reels from this devastating event, authorities are intensively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
