A fatal fire in Brassall, Queensland claimed the life of a 68-year-old woman and left a man injured. The incident, which occurred early on April 28, is currently under investigation by local authorities.

Emergency services rushed to a unit on Melville Drive around 4:20 AM after receiving reports of a fire. The woman was critically injured and initially transported to Royal Brisbane Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries the following afternoon. A 68-year-old man also sustained minor injuries during the incident and was taken to the hospital.

Queensland Police Service has indicated that preliminary investigations suggest the fire was non-suspicious. However, they will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and prepare a report for the coroner.
