Hyundai Motor Group’s Robotics LAB has unveiled a plan to develop physical artificial intelligence systems with South Korean semiconductor company DEEPX, announcing the initiative at CES Foundry 2026. Under a three-year partnership, DEEPX will produce an on-device AI chip designed to serve as an “Edge Brain” for robots. Hyundai said the chip will use software developed by its Robotics LAB, while DEEPX will contribute its semiconductor expertise. The companies aim to combine their technologies to strengthen their position in the robotics market. Hyundai said the systems will support its broader “Robotization of Space” strategy, with potential applications in factories, buildings, logistics and mobility. The group said the initiative is intended to advance social value through robotics and physical AI, including by addressing labor shortages and other industrial challenges.
