Samsung Electronics is bringing Galaxy technology and athlete-focused programs to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which are being held in Senegal from Oct. 31 to Nov. 13. The event brings together more than 2,700 athletes from 207 countries competing in 25 sports and is the first Olympic sporting event hosted on the African continent.

Samsung said Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones will be integrated into coverage of skateboarding and taekwondo, providing handheld, close-up and vertical footage alongside traditional broadcast cameras. The company is also introducing its Olympic Victory Selfie program to the Youth Olympic Games for the first time, using Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition devices to help medalists capture moments around their ceremonies.

At the Samsung Open Station in the Youth Olympic Village, athletes can participate in activities including short-form video interviews, photo personalization, gaming and a simulated medal-ceremony photo experience. The company is also hosting a “Beyond the Medal” mentoring session with Olympians and athlete role models focused on life after competition.

Samsung said it will support Dakar 2026 through local media, retail and consumer initiatives across Senegal, including experience zones, interactive sports and artificial intelligence challenges, and special retail activations. The company has been a Worldwide Olympic Partner since 1998 and has supported the Youth Olympic Games since their inaugural event in Singapore in 2010.
