Samsung presented an AI-powered “Care Companion” concept at its First Look 2026 exhibition during CES, highlighting connected tools designed to support personal health, family safety and home security. The company said the initiative aims to shift care from reactive responses toward earlier detection and prevention. The exhibition featured Galaxy wearables, including Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring, working with connected home appliances to monitor sleep conditions and adjust factors such as temperature and airflow. Samsung said its ecosystem is intended to help users establish healthier daily routines with limited manual input. Samsung also demonstrated services focused on family health, including tools that analyze lifestyle indicators such as speech, typing, walking, sleep and gait to identify possible signs of cognitive decline. The company said alerts could be sent to designated caregivers, while related programs may recommend brain-training activities. Its SmartThings Pet Care service was shown analyzing animal photos for potential conditions including dental disease, cataracts and patellar luxation. The Care Companion zone further showcased AI-based home monitoring, using connected cameras and devices to identify potentially dangerous events and notify users remotely. Samsung said the system can summarize flagged incidents and help distinguish familiar people from strangers. The company also highlighted compatibility with partner sensors, cameras and smart locks as it expands its connected AI ecosystem.
