Samsung Electronics is updating its Samsung Health app with easier-to-start Sleep Coaching, more personalized weekly guidance and expanded running tools. The features will begin rolling out through app updates in October, with availability varying by market, device and software version. Sleep Coaching will now require three days of sleep data collected within the previous two weeks, down from seven days within a month. After completing a survey covering sleep habits, interruptions, caffeine and alcohol use, and sleep satisfaction, users will receive a personalized four- to eight-week coaching program. Recommendations will adjust as sleep patterns and lifestyle factors change. The update also introduces a pentagon-shaped Sleep Balance graph that tracks sleep duration, regularity, nighttime awake periods, sleep satisfaction and Energy Score. Daily insights, habit checklists and weekly reports will offer guidance on practices such as reducing screen use before bed and avoiding late caffeine. Samsung is expanding Running Coach from 10 to 12 training levels, adding support for intermediate and advanced runners. Users will also be able to share workout achievements through new social templates and import running, trail-running and cycling routes from Strava. Sleep Coaching requires Samsung Health version 6.24 or later and compatible Galaxy devices, while Running Coach has separate device and software requirements.
