A 45-year-old Queensland Police senior sergeant has been charged over the alleged theft of shop goods while off duty, Queensland Police Service said.

The Brisbane Region officer was served with a notice to appear and is expected to face Holland Park Magistrates Court on September 18, 2026.

The officer has been stood down from the service while the matter proceeds. Queensland Police said the charge reflects allegations that have not been substantiated and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability when members face serious misconduct allegations.
