Police in Mundubbera are calling for witnesses after a group of vandals damaged an Anzac Memorial site over the weekend. This appeal follows a distressing incident where a pot plant was destroyed, and several poppies were removed from the memorial located at the intersection of Bouverie Street and Lyons Street. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) reported that the incident occurred between the late evening of Saturday, June 13, and the early morning of Sunday, June 14. The vandals, described as four unknown males, targeted the memorial site, which holds significant sentimental value to the community. Authorities are urging anyone with information or footage related to the incident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation. The QPS has also expressed gratitude towards community members who aided in the cleanup following the act of vandalism.
