Ukraine Unveils Unmanned Forces Day

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, announced the establishment of a new national day to honor the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), marking a significant development in military technology and operations. The announcement was made during a presidential address on June 10, 2026, where Zelenskyy declared June 11 as the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces, dedicated annually to celebrating the achievements and contributions of the USF.

The USF, a pioneer in the military use of unmanned systems, has demonstrated substantial impacts on the battlefield, particularly in targeting Russian military assets. According to President Zelenskyy, the USF has successfully struck Russian targets worth nearly $40 billion over the past year. These operations have not only inflicted significant material losses on the enemy but have also expanded Ukraine’s capability to conduct operations that preserve civilian lives.

In his address, Zelenskyy also highlighted recent strategic operations, including strikes on a Russian military plant in Cheboksary and key facilities in Russia’s oil industry. He emphasized the coordinated efforts of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and diplomatic corps in these successes. Additionally, the president outlined the strategic priorities of air defense, energy, and diplomacy and discussed the preparation for upcoming international summits, including the EU, G7, and NATO summits, which are expected to further bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
