Zelenskyy’s Strategic Summit Talks

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, engaged in a series of crucial discussions on June 9, 2026, during the Ukraine – Nordic-Baltic Summit held in Tallinn. These meetings, which included talks with several European leaders, were aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities and furthering its European integration.

In a significant move, President Zelenskyy and the new Prime Minister of Latvia, Andris Kulbergs, finalized a drone deal, underlining the summit’s focus on enhancing military cooperation. Additionally, Zelenskyy’s discussions with Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson revolved around the implementation of agreements regarding Gripen fighter jets, which are part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to strengthen its air defense system.

The summit also witnessed the signing of a Joint Declaration on Enhanced Security and Defense Cooperation between Ukraine and Estonia. This pact, signed by Zelenskyy and Estonia’s Prime Minister Kristen Michal, is expected to deepen the strategic ties between the two nations, with a particular emphasis on countering Russian aggression. Moreover, the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, played a proactive role by participating in initiatives aimed at expanding Ukrainian studies in Estonia and launching a Ukrainian-language audio guide in Tallinn’s Vabamu Museum of Occupations and Freedom.
