The Sunshine Coast’s Drug and Serious Crime Taskforce has concluded Operation Xray Volt after four years of intensive efforts to curb drug trafficking in Queensland. Starting in April 2022, the operation targeted the distribution of multiple illegal substances, including methylamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, MDMA, performance enhancing drugs, and cannabis.

Spanning regions from Cairns to the Sunshine Coast, detectives executed multiple search warrants on March 25. Among the significant seizures were over $80,000 in cash, luxury vehicles, a Harley Davidson motorbike, substantial amounts of illicit drugs, and firearms. A total of 51 individuals were charged with 220 related offenses.

Key arrests included a 30-year-old Mooloolah Valley man facing 32 charges and a 22-year-old from Tanawha, found with $41,000 in cash and quantities of MDMA. Further operations saw significant drug and asset seizures across regional Queensland, including in locations like Parramatta Park, Bargara, and Meridan Plains.

The Queensland Police are urging the public to report any suspicious activity through Policelink or anonymously via Crime Stoppers. This community cooperation is vital in continuing the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking in the region.
