A comprehensive six-month law enforcement operation in Toowoomba, dubbed Operation Xray Ambrose, has successfully concluded with the arrest of 103 individuals facing a total of 942 charges. The operation focused on disrupting the local drug trade and illegal firearm circulation.

The operation, spearheaded by the Toowoomba Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) with support from various tactical and safety squads, involved both overt and covert tactics. Throughout the operation, police executed 80 search warrants, which led to the seizure of substantial amounts of drugs, a high-value vehicle, and multiple illegal firearms. Among the confiscated items were 674 grams of methylamphetamine, 19.4 grams of heroin, a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover, and 15 firearms, including a stolen 9mm Glock handgun.

The intensive crackdown has led to significant charges, including trafficking offenses against 15 individuals, who are expected to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court in the coming months. Detective Senior Sergeant Paul McCusker, Officer in Charge of Toowoomba CIB, emphasized the dual objectives of the operation: to remove harmful substances and weapons from the streets and to disrupt the drug supply chain profoundly.

The Queensland Police have reaffirmed their commitment to community safety and continue to encourage the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities. Reports can be made through Policelink or anonymously via Crimestoppers. The operation not only underscores the effectiveness of collaborative law enforcement efforts but also aims to restore public confidence in safety and order.
