NASA has officially opened media accreditation for the Artemis II mission activities at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. This significant event marks the first crewed mission to the Moon in the ongoing Artemis campaign, poised to launch no earlier than February 6, 2026.

During a recently held Artemis II Mission Overview briefing at the Teague Auditorium in Johnson Space Center, the agency detailed the mission’s objectives and introduced the crew. The team includes NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen. Their 10-day journey around the Moon aims to test crucial systems and hardware in preparation for future lunar landings and eventual Martian expeditions.

Interested media must apply for accreditation via the NASA Johnson newsroom by specified deadlines—January 16 for international media and January 30 for U.S. media. With limited in-person space due to high interest, only credentialed media receiving confirmation emails will be allowed to cover the events on-site. Daily briefings will be held at Johnson and streamed on NASA’s YouTube channel throughout the mission, featuring insights from agency managers and mission experts. For more information on media accreditation, representatives can contact [email protected].

This mission not only represents a leap forward in lunar exploration but also sets the stage for the next era of space innovation, including the first manned Mars missions. For further details on the Artemis II mission, visit NASA’s official website.
