In a major international law enforcement operation, a 21-year-old Swedish national was arrested in Iraq for orchestrating severe criminal activities, including violence and exploitation of minors. This individual, identified as a crucial figure within the Foxtrot criminal network, was apprehended under the Europol-supported Operational Taskforce (OTF) GRIMM.

The suspect, listed on the EU Most Wanted list, played a vital role in coordinating ‘violence-as-a-service’ across borders, significantly impacting Sweden. The operations leading to his arrest were a result of extensive collaboration between the Swedish Police Authority and Iraqi law enforcement. This arrest is a part of ongoing efforts to dismantle networks that engage in cross-border criminal activities and protect high-profile criminals by operating from outside the European Union.

Further strengthening the operation’s success, another associate linked to the same network was captured, sought by Swedish authorities for multiple severe offenses, including conspiracy to commit murder and crimes involving explosives. These arrests are likely to cripple the network’s ability to orchestrate international violence. Extradition procedures for both individuals are currently in progress, with continued cooperation under OTF GRIMM to disrupt and prosecute other significant entities involved in these criminal networks.
