In a significant crackdown on crime, North Brisbane police have charged 155 individuals with more than 360 offenses as part of the first wave of Operation Xray Nightfury. This operation, which took place from November 17 to November 23, targeted major criminal activities that have raised community concerns, including burglary, assault, and motor vehicle misuse. The operation saw 137 adults and 18 juveniles charged, with offenses spanning from stealing and dangerous drug possession to assault and unlawful vehicle use. A noteworthy arrest included a 22-year-old from Bald Hills, charged with 46 different offenses after being apprehended while hiding in a toybox at a local residence. This operation was part of a broader initiative to enhance late-night security in the northern suburbs, complementing ongoing Operation Xray Grimlock, which focuses on property and vehicle thefts. Aside from the multitude of arrests, police actions also led to the recovery of a firearm and ammunition during a property search related to a high-risk offender. The ongoing operations underscore a robust policing strategy aiming to curb crime rates in the area actively. Acting Superintendent Jon Kent emphasized the operation’s success, stating that such strategic actions allow for a proactive approach to law enforcement in North Brisbane, enhancing both safety and security. The community can expect continued efforts in this direction, with more operations planned for the future. Post navigation EU Tightens Leash on Pet Abuse Drunk Driver Triggers Alarm
