A significant blow to international cybercrime was delivered between November 10 and 14, 2025, as Europol led a massive coordinated operation resulting in the dismantling of key cybercrime infrastructure. Known as Operation Endgame, this initiative targeted notorious malware sources like Rhadamanthys, VenomRAT, and the Elysium botnet, contributing to a safer global digital environment.

The operation, centered at Europol’s headquarters in The Hague, involved collaborative efforts from law enforcement and judicial authorities across multiple countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, and various EU member states. During the operation, over 1,025 servers were taken down or disrupted, and 20 domains were seized, striking a significant blow to cybercriminal operations worldwide. The main suspect behind VenomRAT was arrested in Greece earlier on November 3, marking a critical success in the ongoing battle against cyber threats.

In addition to the server takedowns, the operation led to searches across 11 locations spanning Germany, Greece, and the Netherlands, with significant international cooperation facilitated by both Europol and Eurojust. The operation also highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in combating cybercrime, with contributions from industry giants such as Cryptolaemus, Shadowserver, RoLR, and Crowdstrike playing a crucial role in the operation’s success.

The impact of Operation Endgame extends beyond immediate disruptions to criminal networks; it also encompasses the protection of millions of unsuspecting victims worldwide from data theft and financial loss. Europol has advised individuals to check their systems for potential compromises and provided resources for those affected. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, operations like Endgame are vital in maintaining the integrity and security of global information systems.
