First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, took center stage at Ukraine’s National Day at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan. The event, which was attended by over 500 guests, including Japanese government officials and international delegates, highlighted Ukraine’s gratitude to global supporters amid ongoing challenges.

In her address, Zelenska expressed deep appreciation to Japan and other countries aiding Ukraine in its defense efforts. “Today, on our National Day at EXPO, we – the Ukrainian team – wish to dedicate this occasion to gratitude,” she stated, emphasizing the support Ukraine has received from the international community.

A centerpiece of the event was the premiere of the “Ode of Gratitude,” a musical composition created with the band Hyphen Dash and creative agency Bickerstaff.734. The performance, accompanied by a music video, symbolized Ukraine’s appreciation for global assistance.

The Ukrainian pavilion, titled “Not For Sale,” featured 18 symbolic items representing values like freedom and dignity. Instead of prices, visitors encountered videos depicting the sacrifices Ukrainians make to sustain their rights amid Russian aggression. Zelenska highlighted the ongoing struggle against misinformation and propaganda, noting the cultural resistance against such manipulations.

Adjacent to the pavilion, the Values-Driven Economy zone showcased artifacts from Ukrainian companies continuing operations despite the war. Exhibits also honored international cultural figures and activists who consistently support Ukraine. The event underscored Ukraine’s resilience and the importance of global solidarity in the face of adversity.
