Queensland police have charged a woman following the alleged theft of a vehicle on the Gold Coast and a subsequent crash involving three parked cars in Ashgrove on August 29. Police allege the woman stole a blue Audi from the Gold Coast Highway at about 9:10 p.m. She was later observed allegedly driving dangerously westbound on Ashgrove Avenue before colliding with three parked vehicles at about 11:31 p.m. The woman and a man allegedly fled the scene. The woman was arrested a short time later and taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious injuries. The man remains outstanding. The Shorncliffe woman faces charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle at night in company, driving without due care and attention, driving without a licence, and entering premises to commit an indictable offence. She is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 31. Investigations are continuing, and police are seeking dashcam or CCTV footage from the incident.
