In a significant gesture of international cooperation, Japan’s Nojima Corporation has pledged 200 million yen to support the Olena Zelenska Foundation’s projects aimed at aiding Ukrainian children. This announcement came during the First Lady of Ukraine’s visit to Japan, where she engaged with influential figures from Japanese government and business sectors.

Olena Zelenska, accompanied by her foundation’s team, held meetings with key stakeholders, including JICA’s Executive Senior Vice President Miyazaki Katsura, Nojima Corporation President Hiroshi Nojima, and representatives from other major corporations like Rakuten Group, Daiwa House, and Panasonic Corporation. The discussions focused on bolstering Ukraine’s recovery efforts, emphasizing the need to prioritize children’s welfare amidst ongoing challenges.

The funding from Nojima Corporation is earmarked for projects that include constructing shelters in educational institutions, setting up Schools of Superheroes in children’s hospitals, and equipping students with tools for distance learning. Additionally, the Foundation unveiled a new initiative named “12–21” aimed at providing psychosocial support for adolescents and young people.

Rakuten Group also expressed interest in collaborating with the Foundation, with discussions on potential terms of cooperation underway. Olena Zelenska conveyed her gratitude for the support, highlighting the meetings as a promising start to critical collaborations that foster the development and safety of Ukraine’s younger generations.
