Three teenage girls have been charged following the theft and recovery of a stolen BMW X5 on the Gold Coast. The incident, which took place on June 7, involved police tracking the vehicle from Carrara to West Burleigh.

According to the Queensland Police Service, the black BMW was stolen from a residence on Lakeside Avenue between June 6 and June 7. Utilizing Polair support, authorities intercepted the vehicle on Tallebudgera Creek Road around 4 p.m.

The driver, a 17-year-old girl, was apprehended and faces multiple charges, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a vehicle. She is scheduled to appear in Southport Children’s Court on July 8.

Two 15-year-old passengers were also detained. They face charges related to the unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property. Both are set to appear in the same court on July 16.
