Hyundai Motor Company will launch the Hyundai Translocal Series: Ho Tzu Nyen at New York’s New Museum on Sept. 24, followed by a presentation at the Ulsan Art Museum in South Korea on Oct. 22. The exhibitions mark the beginning of a three-year collaboration between the two institutions. The inaugural series features newly commissioned works by Singapore-based artist Ho Tzu Nyen. His projects examine how ideas of power are shaped by different architectural settings, cultural contexts and historical perspectives. The exhibition includes “P for Power: Up Down” and “P for Power: Double Life of P.” Hyundai said the series is intended to explore connections between local and global artistic practices through presentations in both New York and Ulsan.
