Queensland police have charged a ninth person with murder in connection with the death of a 21-year-old man at Bahrs Scrub in July.

Police were called to a disturbance on Discovery Boulevard at about 2:16 a.m. on July 26, where they found the man unconscious with significant head injuries. He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in critical condition but later died.

The latest accused is a 17-year-old boy from Inala, who was charged following an investigation by detectives from the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit. He is scheduled to appear in Beenleigh Children’s Court on September 17.

Eight other men were previously charged in connection with the investigation. Police thanked residents, community leaders and other community representatives for assisting investigators and encouraged anyone with information to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
