Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the country will strengthen electronic warfare capabilities and increase procurement of protective systems for critical infrastructure following a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on Sept. 15. Officials reviewed security needs at Ukrzaliznytsia, gas station networks and other critical enterprises identified as potential targets of Russian strikes. Contracts for protection systems have been confirmed, while the deployment of mobile fire groups and air defense lines will be reorganized, Zelenskyy said. The president also instructed the Ministry of Finance to provide additional funding for logistics. Participants discussed measures with international partners to protect transport routes in border areas near European Union countries and Moldova. A separate report examined Ukrzaliznytsia’s ability to repair rolling stock and secure equipment supplies. The government is preparing backup logistics routes in frontline regions and has developed procedures for combining rail and bus services. Details of the updated protection plans were not disclosed.
