Queensland police have charged a 25-year-old man following an alleged break-in and armed robbery at a residence in Cannon Hill on September 10.

Police said officers were called to a McKie Crescent property at about 11:22 p.m. after a man allegedly broke through a glass door and demanded money. Investigators allege a firearm was discharged, striking the ceiling, before the resident retreated to a bedroom and the man stole vehicle keys and fled.

A search warrant at an address in Mooloolah Valley allegedly uncovered ammunition and two firearms. The man was charged with 12 offences, including drug possession, unlawful weapons possession, possession of ammunition without authority, entering a dwelling at night with intent and robbery with violence.

He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Caloundra Magistrates Court on September 14. Investigations remain ongoing.
