Queensland police have charged three members and associates of outlaw motorcycle gangs over allegations they used false declarations to redirect traffic infringements to other drivers. The Major and Organised Crime Squad Far Northern alleges a 38-year-old Kewarra Beach man was caught travelling at 74 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on the Bruce Highway at Bororen in September 2023. Police allege he falsely identified a 37-year-old man, reportedly a member of the Raiders Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, as the driver. The 37-year-old was charged with fraud on August 14 and is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on September 23. In a separate matter, police allege a 38-year-old Brinsmead man was detected using a mobile phone while driving on the Pacific Motorway at Upper Coomera in October 2023. Investigators say he and a 36-year-old Brinsmead woman submitted declarations falsely stating she had been driving. Both were charged after detectives executed a search warrant at a Brinsmead address on September 8. They are due to appear in court on October 7. Detective Senior Sergeant Brad Grace said police would pursue organised motorcycle gang-related crime regardless of its scale.
