Manunda, June 29, 2026 – Two teenagers have been arrested following an armed robbery that occurred at a service station in Manunda on the morning of June 27. The suspects, an 18-year-old local man and a 15-year-old girl, are accused of threatening a 53-year-old woman from Manoora and stealing her vehicle, an MG M3, at approximately 5:30 AM.

The incident, which took place at a Pease Street service station, resulted in minor injuries to the victim. Later that day, police successfully located and arrested the suspects at a unit on Mayers Street. The 18-year-old was charged with robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, and unlicensed driving. He was denied bail and appeared in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.

The younger suspect was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing. She is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court on July 14. Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
