Police in Toowoomba have detained a 25-year-old man following his alleged involvement in a vehicle theft and a subsequent traffic incident that occurred on the morning of June 29, 2026. During the theft, a female employee was hit by the gate, resulting in a wrist injury as she fell. Minutes after the theft, around 7:20 AM, the stolen vehicle was involved in a crash involving another Mazda CX3 and a Hyundai Sante Fe near Ruthven and Little streets. The collision caused minor injuries to the driver of the second Mazda, while the Hyundai was unoccupied at the time. He is scheduled to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on June 30.
