A devastating traffic incident occurred in Runcorn on the evening of June 28, leading to the death of a 72-year-old pedestrian. The Queensland Police Service is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Just before 7:30 PM, the victim, a Kingston woman, was struck by a blue Toyota Hilux on Beenleigh Road while the vehicle was heading east. After the collision, the vehicle did not stop and was later found burnt out on Avalon Road in Sheldon. Despite being rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical injuries, the woman was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Toyota Hilux has not been found, and the Forensic Crash Unit, along with the Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch, are working tirelessly to identify and locate the individual responsible. Authorities are urging the driver to come forward and are also appealing to the public for any information that could lead to resolving this case.
