A man was charged with wounding another in a violent altercation early this morning in Maroochydore, Queensland Police reported. The incident, which escalated from a verbal dispute to a stabbing, occurred on Ocean Street around 4:20 am. Responding to emergency calls, police and medical teams arrived to find a 20-year-old man from Bli Bli with multiple stab wounds. The injured man was promptly transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Authorities established a crime scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation. A 32-year-old man from Maroochydore was arrested near the scene. It is alleged that following a verbal exchange, he inflicted five stab wounds on the younger man’s chest and abdomen with a knife. The suspect is now facing one count of wounding and is scheduled to appear before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow.
