Europol has announced the recent arrest of a Swedish fugitive in Tunisia, marking a significant success for the recently launched Operational Taskforce (OTF) GRIMM. The arrest occurred as part of a coordinated effort to combat violence-as-a-service networks across Europe.

The suspect, a man in his 30s, was wanted by Swedish authorities for multiple charges including murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He was apprehended by Tunisian law enforcement following extensive cooperation between Sweden and Tunisia. This arrest underscores the effectiveness of international collaboration in tackling organized crime.

OTF GRIMM has also added two new high-profile targets to the EU Most Wanted list. The first, a 21-year-old Swedish national, is suspected of involvement in murders and other violent acts within an organized crime group. The second, a 41-year-old dual Iranian/Swedish national, is wanted for attempted murder. These additions aim to enhance the visibility of dangerous fugitives and facilitate their capture through public cooperation and professional investigative efforts.

Launched in April 2025, OTF GRIMM unites multiple European countries in a joint mission to address the rising threat of organized violence. The task force has been instrumental in the arrest of 281 suspects involved in serious crimes across Europe over the past year. The EU Most Wanted website, managed by the European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST) with support from Europol, continues to play a crucial role in these efforts by engaging the public and gathering valuable leads.
