Tragic Highway Incident in Kabra

A fatal traffic accident on the Capricorn Highway in Kabra has led to the death of an 83-year-old man, with ongoing investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit. The incident, which occurred around 10:05 am on April 24, involved a white Mazda CX-5 that veered off the lane and collided with a parked Kenworth truck.

The elderly driver, hailing from Duingal, was urgently transported to Rockhampton Hospital but succumbed to his injuries weeks later on May 13. Accompanying him was a 79-year-old woman, also from Duingal, who remains in stable condition at the same hospital.

Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the crash to come forward to assist with the investigation.
